St Patrick's Day on the Wild Atlantic Way with Dove Chauffeurdrive and Dave Hogan

Happy St Patrick's Day to all of our friends everywhere on this, our very special feast day.

Your continuing support is very much appreciated. and we look forward to seeing many of you returning again in the future to tour with us once again.

Thank you sincerely also for those many friends you have sent to us over the years. Our team here and are all set, and ready to go again, as we enter another new touring season. 

I am not going to name anybody here, but you are all remembered, and loved by us here, on this very special day. 

I go to church in a little while now, as this is a holy day here, and i will remember all of your in my prayers.

 Ireland is known as "The Land of Saints and Scholars", and i think that the above photo of this invaluable Celtic cross at Clonmacnoise, is most appropriate on this feast of our great saint.
It is housed indoors to prevent the weather from damaging it.

 Another picture i took at Clonmacnoise, showing another of the many wonderful crosses, with the ruins of the ancient Cathedral in the background. Another one of our great saints was Saint Coleman, who spent time here.

 Our countryside here is like a tour of a giant museum, this being just another of the hundreds of ruined churches that are there to visit.

 There are also some magnificent cathedrals to see, such as this beautiful one in Cobh, (pronounced Cove), in county Cork. This cathedral overlooks Cobh harbour, from where the vast majority of our emigrants departed, as they fled from poverty and persecution, seeking a better life in the New World. Imagine their sorrow and fear, as they looked back at this magnificent cathedral from their ship, the last sighting so many of them had, as they sailed out through the bay, which is pictured in the background here. It was also the last sight of land for the unfortunate people on the Titanic, as Cobh was the final port of call for them as they set sail on the final leg of their tragic voyage.

 Does Shamrock grow in the USA? I took this picture in my garden this morning.

Our Daffodils were late blooming this year due to the cold weather conditions, but they survived against the odds, and they were a lovely sight this morning in my garden.

The Wild Atlantic Way, cold and windy today, but it is always beautiful despite the changing weather. Here we have one of the many Norman Tower castles dotted all over the land here.

One of my own personal favourite pictures which i took at Slea Head on the Dingle Peninsula. Many of these ruined homes date back to famine times, and are stark reminders of just how hard life must have been in these remote areas. They were a hardy people, but their faith kept them going.
